If it takes you a little while to get going in the morning and you sometimes even feel a little weak after lunch there may be a couple simple, natural things you've been neglecting after waking up that, if added to your routine, will make you more energetic and efficient throughout the day. They are... stretching and eating.

If you normally wake up any later than 6 am, you've got time to stretch, and, trust us, it's worth it. Set your alarm for 15 minutes earlier than normal and get up in the morning and get a good stretch in. Find a quiet and clean spot, clear your mind, and focus on what you have to accomplish that day and how you plan to get it done as your body and mind warm up. Don't cheat yourself and try to touch your toes for 15 minutes either. If you don't know a lot of good stretches, search Google or YouTube and you'll be on your way.

Eating should be obvious, but a surprising number of people put it off in the morning and almost every day you hear someone in the office or shop reporting around noon they haven't eaten all day. Not only does not eating until lunch sap your energy and productivity, but it also slows your metabolism and makes you less healthy. Come on people. This is an easy one. Wake up, within half an hour eat a healthy breakfast to give you some fuel for the morning. You may also want to keep some healthy snacks (fruit, nuts, granola, Greek yogurt) with you as well, so you can pick at them throughout the day and never really get too hungry, but always start with breakfast.
